The initial State of CD Report is available immediately – The second report in the series, The State of CD:18 Months into the COVID-19 Pandemic, is scheduled for November 2021

SAN FRANCISCO, October 11, 2021 – The Continuous Delivery Foundation (CDF), the open source software foundation that seeks to improve the world’s capacity to deliver software with security and speed, today announced its new continuous delivery report series. A key function of CDF is providing vendor-neutral data on key DevOps and development metrics showing where continuous delivery stands in 2021 and beyond.

“With enterprises looking to improve their application development velocity while also protecting their software supply chain from new threats, it is clear that continuous delivery will be a critical tool in this process,“ said Stephen O’Grady, Principal Analyst with RedMonk. “As such, it’s crucial to understand where the market is from an adoption and maturity perspective across multiple vendors and implementations. This is exactly what the State of the CD Report was created for.”

The first report in the series, the State of CD Report, was released at cdCon 2021 in June. To download the full report and to access the dashboard for the report where you can filter and sort the data, please see: https://cd.foundation/state-cd-report/

The dashboard to the State of CD Report is based on SlashData’s Developer Nation survey, which reached 19,000+ respondents from 155 countries and was carried out between December 2020 and February 2021.

The follow-up report, The State of CD: 18 Months into the COVID-19 Pandemic, is scheduled for November 2021. It will build on the first report by providing trend data over the last 18 months reflecting software delivery performance through the COVID-19 pandemic as well as deeper insights on a per-industry basis.

“Too many organizations still tend to think of CD as a platform to acquire rather than a set of practices and skills to be defined and nurtured. Good data leads to good decisions, and the CDF is uniquely positioned to survey not just DevOps believers, but a much wider group of developers to surface key trends and provide actionable data,” announced Tracy Miranda, Continuous Delivery Foundation Executive Director. “COVID has obviously made planning and implementation harder. Our new report, ‘The State of CD:18 Months into the COVID-19 Pandemic’ will help look directly at COVID-influenced factors and will help organizations with their need for up-to-date continuous data in a fast-changing space. The reports are free, vendor-neutral and contain important data for organizations of all sizes. Why wait?”
