Event-Driven Automation for Safe CI/CD Jenkins and Prometheus

Workshop: Event-Driven Automation for Safe CI/CD: Integrating Prometheus and Jenkins for Automatic Rollbacks

By

Modern software teams rely heavily on continuous delivery (CD) pipelines to release features at high velocity. Progressive delivery techniques, such as canary and blue/green deployments help limit risk, but rollback decisions are often manual, delayed, or dependent on rigid thresholds.

In this workshop, I will demonstrate how Event-Driven Automation (EDA) with Ansible EDA, integrated with Prometheus for observability signals and Jenkins for deployment orchestration, can eliminate these gaps. Participants will explore an event-driven workflow where Prometheus alerts automatically trigger Ansible EDA rulebooks, which then instruct Jenkins to rollback failing deployments.

By the end of the session, attendees will see how treating observability as an active control plane in CI/CD pipelines improves reliability, reduces mean time to recovery (MTTR), and provides a reproducible model they can adapt in their own environments.

Abstract

If you build it, they will come: Enabling a Vibrant Open Source Community

In the dynamic technology landscape, open source contribution has become a critical enabler for innovation. But open source development takes a complete shift in engineering culture. So how do you drive that change in a large enterprise?

How do you create, grow, and sustain a vibrant open source community?
