This spring, we partnered with DORA and Google Cloud to continue the academic DevOps research that started seven years ago and are happy to announce that the eighth report is now available! Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey to help us understand what drives excellence in software development and delivery, and how teams and organizations can effectively adopt DevOps with speed and reliability.
The report shows where open source and DevOps intersect to drive powerful business outcomes, no matter what stage of the DevOps journey they are in. Here are some of the key insights we found interesting for our community.
1. A healthy team culture mitigates burnout during challenging times ➡ Watch this cdCon 2021 talk: A Vulnerable Tale about Burnout by Julia Simon
2. Site reliability engineering (SRE) and DevOps are complementary philosophies ➡ Learn how to set up the fundamentals of SRE in this cdCon 2021 talk: SRE Adoptions by Spyridon Maniotis
3. A secure software supply chain is both essential and drives performance ➡ Our latest event SupplyChainSecurityCon, was filled with great supply chain security content. The recorded talks will be available soon!
4. Good documentation is foundational for successfully implementing DevOps capabilities ➡ KellyAnn Fitzpatrick, of RedMonk, has done analysis around the state of developer docs. We look forward to her insights in the upcoming State of DevOps Report Panel on October 20
