Diverse range of technical specialties highlight community growth in cloud native application development, monitoring and delivery

SAN FRANCISCO, June 16, 2021 – The Continuous Delivery Foundation (CDF), the open-source software foundation that seeks to improve the world’s capacity to deliver software with security and speed, today announced that Dynatrace, Oracle, and Ozone have joined the CDF as General Members.

“We would like to welcome our new members. We look forward to working closely with them so that we can keep pushing continuous delivery forward. Their membership brings fresh new perspectives and expertise, benefiting open source development and continuous delivery developers and users,” announced Tracy Miranda, Continuous Delivery Foundation Executive Director. “CDF showcases the power of collaboration, and with our new members we will take software delivery development to even greater heights.”

CDF is led by Premier Members Armory, CircleCI, CloudBees, Fujitsu, Google, Huawei, JFrog, and Netflix. Dynatrace, Oracle, and Ozone will be working together with the full membership and the worldwide community to make continuous delivery tools and processes as accessible and reliable as possible and grow the overall ecosystem.

Dynatrace

Dynatrace provides software intelligence to simplify cloud complexity and accelerate digital transformation. With automatic and intelligent observability at scale, the company’s all-in-one Software Intelligence Platform delivers precise answers about the performance and security of applications, the underlying infrastructure, and the experience of all users to enable organizations to innovate faster, collaborate more efficiently, and deliver more value with dramatically less effort.

Dynatrace is also behind the open-source project Keptn, a control-plane for DevOps automation of cloud-native applications. Keptn is a Sandbox project with the Cloud Native Computing Foundation.

“Modern enterprises need to provide continuous delivery platforms that scale across hundreds of teams and that are easy to maintain and extend. Scripts building point-to-point integrations for proprietary APIs won’t enable this,” said Alois Reitbauer, VP, Chief Technical Strategist and Head of Innovation Lab, Dynatrace. “Standardized events based on event-driven control planes and services are essential to enable these platforms to achieve the requirements of modern, enterprise-scale, cloud-native environments. We are working towards merging Keptn events with standardized CD events from the CD Foundation, and are interacting closely with the community to enable the same consolidation in the CI/CD that OpenTelemetry has brought to observability.”

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a platform of cloud services that enable customers to build and run a wide range of applications in a highly available, consistently high-performance environment. Oracle Cloud facilitates the DevOps model by providing an open, standards-based application development platform that can integrate with popular CI/CD tools such as Jenkins to easily build and deploy modern, intelligent applications.

“CI/CD is the key to speed and agility for developers. It enables developers to deliver application code faster and with fewer defects and is essential when transforming from waterfall to agile.  We’re excited to build on our involvement in the Linux Foundation and CNCF to support the growth and evolution of open source continuous delivery models and best practices,” said Dan Gerrity, Senior Vice President of Developer Services, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. “Oracle supports CDF’s mission, the open-source projects within the CDF and the collaboration among top developers, end users, and vendors.”

Ozone

Ozone enables global enterprises to manage complex application delivery processes with easy-to-use workflow and automation tools for CI/CD. Ozone’s software delivery platform is built on Kubernetes and leverages the Tekton framework to provide Continuous Delivery as-a-service for modern apps. It empowers developers to self-serve CI/CD on any modern orchestration platform.

“Enterprises are adopting the multi-cloud strategy and will need a modern platform that can bring efficiency in software delivery process through automation and standardization in CI/CD,” said Siva Gurunathan, Co-founder and CTO, Ozone. “CDF membership is in our clients’ best interests as we would work towards improving best practices for CI/CD and ensure a safe and reliable environment for application delivery.”

Open source technologies such as Jenkins, Jenkins X, Spinnaker, Tekton, Screwdriver and Ortelius, which the CDF hosts, help development teams from companies of all sizes and industries improve their speed and productivity when creating cloud-native, legacy infrastructure, mobile, IoT, and bare-metal applications.

Organizations join CDF because they want to take an active role in supporting the growth and evolution of continuous delivery models and best practices. For more information on how you can join today, see: https://cd.foundation/members/join-member/

About the Continuous Delivery Foundation

The Continuous Delivery Foundation (CDF) seeks to improve the world’s capacity to deliver software with security and speed. The CDF is a vendor-neutral organization that is establishing best practices of software delivery automation, propelling education and adoption of CD tools, and facilitating cross-pollination across emerging technologies. The CDF is home to many of the fastest-growing projects for CD, including Jenkins, Jenkins X, Tekton, and Spinnaker. The CDF is part of the Linux Foundation, a nonprofit organization. About cdCon (June 23-24, 2021)

Join Continuous Delivery leaders, industry icons, practitioners, and open source developers for a two-day virtual experience as we improve the world’s capacity to deliver software with security and speed. cdCon is the annual event by the Continuous Delivery Foundation that brings together technology teams, enterprise leadership and open source communities to drive the future of software delivery.

This year’s sessions are designed for 3 different types of audiences:

  • Technology Teams: geared towards application developers, infra folks, DevOps engineers, security professionals, testers and any other practitioners involved with delivering software.
  • Enterprise Leadership: for senior leaders and decision-makers from organizations interested in measuring DevOps, scaling, transformation, security, FinOps, and developer productivity.
  • Open Source Communities: tailored for open-source core contributors and maintainers running and growing CDF projects and special interest groups, as well as folks looking to get involved with open source for the first time. This includes Jenkins, Spinnaker, Tekton, Jenkins X and other CDF communities.

cdCon is a chance for our global community to come together to meet peers, share best practices and ideas, learn from each other and hear about the latest trends in software delivery.
