hacktoberfest 2020

For the first year, the CDF participated in Hacktoberfest, taking the lead from Jenkins and Jenkins X, who have previously been joining in on the coding fun. The great thing about Hacktoberfest is that it’s a low-barrier way to get newcomers, regardless of background, experience or location to contribute to your project.

The projects that were new to Hacktoberfest focused on tagging beginner-friendly issues and finding the best way to get newcomers involved, like Tekton’s issue dashboard, whatever their skill level. We hope to build on our efforts in the years to come. If you have any suggestions, don’t hesitate to share them with us by email.

We have received over *450 pull requests and over *137 contributors.
*Updated numbers sent to us by DigitalOcean. View Hacktoberfest Stats.

Here are just a few of the awesome contributions we’ve received:

You can still contribute to any of our projects throughout the year, not only in October.

Thank you to our projects for taking the time to participate and to everyone who committed some code. As recognition, we’re awarding SWAG to four contributors from each of the five projects for a total of twenty recipients.

We look forward to hacking together again next year in a bigger, better way!
