DigitalOcean celebrates open source each October with Hacktoberfest! Throughout the month, you can earn a digital badge by contributing updates to the CI/CD Cybersecurity SIG’s Cybersecurity Guide.
Hacktoberfest is open to everyone, no matter your experience level or familiarity with the CI/CD Cybersecurity SIG. We especially welcome first-time contributors and look forward to collaborating with you!
Contributions to the guide include fact-checking, reviewing, and adding new Open-Source tools that can be added to the CI/CD pipeline to comply with the Secure Software Development Framework.

Find an Issue to Work On
We’ve added a special Hacktoberfest label in GitHub to help you easily find issues that count toward your pull requests. These issues were created with Hacktoberfest contributors in mind and many are perfect for first-time participants.
You’re not limited to just Hacktoberfest-labeled issues. You’re welcome to work on any open issue. If you choose one without the label, simply add Hacktoberfest in the “Label” field when creating your pull request so it’s recognized.
Featured Issues
If you’re new to the CI/CD Cybersecurity SIG or the Cybersecurity Guide, we’ve highlighted a list of project issues, most of which are good first issues. Active maintainers are ready to support you, answer questions, and provide quick feedback on your pull requests.
