This year’s Continuous Delivery Mini Summit was hosted in Vienna on September 19, in co-location with Open Source Summit Europe.
The CD Mini Summit featured speakers from the banking industry, Bloomberg; the Telco industry, Ericsson; and consultancy agencies, Xebia. We also had IT vendors such as Pulumi, CloudBees, SUSE, and IBM. Even though we all come from different industries with different realities, we all share a common interest—delivering software.
We all know building and maintaining open source software doesn’t magically happen overnight. It involves various skill sets that are not so different from those used to run traditional companies. The main difference is that we don’t focus on one company’s interests but on our industry as a whole. That’s one of the benefits of being part of an open source software foundation—it allows us to collaborate openly to solve the problems we all face.
The hard part is being efficient in solving these problems, and that’s where we need people like you. Many initiatives in our Continuous Delivery community benefit directly from your support and contributions (no matter how small). At events like the CD Mini Summit, we highlight the progress made in improving the security and speed of our software delivery.
I’m glad we could create a safe space where both the speakers and the audience could interact and share their experiences. I hope you’ll feel energized by the stories our speakers shared.
